Contract Negotiations: September 7, 2011

 

The bargaining teams met today and after much discussion, the District passed their Last, Best, and Final Offer which was similar to the package proposal of two weeks ago.  It contains the following:

1.  4 furlough days AND

2.  A $9600 cap on health benefits retroactive to July 1,  2011

3.  Use of your own sick time for personal business

4.  For 2011-12 only, two staff meetings per month

 

A $9600 cap means that each one of us will have to pay an estimated $2000 per year.  This hard cap will be ongoing year after year as health costs rise.   As proposed in the offer above, this deduction will be in addition to the deductions for furlough days .  The four [4] furlough days equate to about $1500 per member on average.  That’s about $3500 spread out over the remaining paychecks for this school year.

 

We did not sign.

 

The teams will be meeting again on September 21, 2011.
