We had a great turnout by our members and our education partners. Representatives from Moreno Valley, Redlands, San Bernardino, Fontana, Victor Valley, Yucaipa-Calimesa, NEA, CTA, NOW, San Bernardino Fire, parents, community members, and retirees were all present.
We started with picketing along the street followed up by speeches from our leaders. Once the school board meeting started, we rallied around the board room chanting and making noise until our speakers inside were heard by the school board. It is in the boards' hands to direct the district to be reasonable at the table when we meet again on October 28th.
Our speakers tried to persuade the board members to look at the budget numbers and see for themselves the waste that exists. It is hurtful to the students who are lacking basic supplies so a former Superintendent can have lifetime medical and dental. Thanks to all you came to support us and encourage those who couldn't make it to participate in the next event. We can't do this without your support and presence.
